Hello!
Thank you, as always, for choosing SOKI.
Many of our guests spend long hours looking at computers or smartphones for work
and come to us with concerns about eye strain.
Tired eyes can also be connected to tension in the muscles around the temples, sides and back of the head, and neck.
When you hold your head forward or keep your neck tilted to look at a screen for long periods,
the muscles at the back of your neck and head work harder to support it.
This can contribute to heavy or tired eyes and tightness around the temples,
as well as stiffness at the back of the head, neck and shoulders, or a feeling of heaviness in the head.
Stiffness at the back of the head and eye strain can be connected!
A group of muscles called the suboccipital muscles connects the head and neck.
These muscles also help make fine adjustments to head position and the direction of your gaze.
When you spend long periods looking at a smartphone or computer, the muscles at the back of your head keep working to hold your head and neck in position.
This is why heavy screen use can leave you feeling tired or tense not only around your eyes but also around the back of your head and neck.
So, what can you do?
If you are concerned about eye strain,
we recommend caring for your head and neck as well as the area around your eyes.
When your eyes feel tired, why not give your head and neck time to relax with a head spa?
We look forward to welcoming you!
